After hours of emailing and Internet searching and much indecision,
I have booked the hen weekend. I apologize first for it being
a bit more costly than I estimated but I had searched high
and low for places.
We are going to a gorgeous house in of all places, Ipswich
in Suffolk. Details of the house can be found on this website

The house looks great and has 10 double bedrooms and 7 bathrooms,
all set around a beautiful Italianate courtyard within yards
of Ipswich Haven Marina. The Old Neptune comfortably sleeps
20 adults in 10 double bedrooms. However there are also sofa
beds which means it can house 23 people in total.
It's just over an hour from Liverpool Street and The Old
Neptune is a 5 minute cab ride from the station. You can pre-book
a peak time business advance ticket on Anglia Railways for
£25 return, the same price as a saver. Many people will
also drive so lifts can be arranged.
Date
Weekend 11th of June 04 (same time as John's stag, which
is good!). The house was the same price for two nights as
three nights so we can stay Sunday night for those of you
who fancy a long weekend and taking the Monday off.
Cost
The total cost of the house for the weekend is £2,200.
The rental cost includes all linen, towels, heat and logs
and a welcome pack. There are no extra costs.
I have paid a deposit of £550. I would really like
it if people could give me their deposits as quickly as possible.
Ideally by bank transfer. If you can't do it that way, a cheque
would be fine. Deposit is £30 each. The full payment
will be due 8 weeks before we go. If people prefer they can
pay in full now. £105 each is approx full payment this
might change very slightly if someone drops out ( i.e. price
would increase a little) and it might also reduce a little
as I am still waiting on two people to see if they can come,
which would bring the total number to 23 people which would
work out at £96 each. If you send the £105 I can
refund you the extra if it works out at less pp.
When people have paid can they let me know so I know where
we are with money.
Weekend Ideas
Friday
Stay in the house get pissed we could either all bring a
dish and have a bit of a buffet or we could order in take
away. I could hire a Karaoke machine don't know what people
think about this idea (let me know) as most of you probably
have haunting memories of my 30th.
Saturday
Daytime- Spa?, trip to the countryside (apparently there
are some lovely country places to visit just outside Ipswich,
horse riding, drink or lunch at the Marina.
Evening- Out for a meal maybe, cocktails then a club someone
has suggested a place called PALS as it is cheesy and not
too young. It has three dance areas 70-80s, pop e.g things
like Kylie and then a more trendy area (not for me) It only
has a late license so its over by 1am! (smart dress code).
Sunday
Nurse hangover, have Sunday lunch together, possibly a BBQ
if weather good. Spa?
Monday
home time

The spa is in Colchester which is a 20-30 minute drive form
where we are staying
Groups of 10 people or more £5.00 each and we can stay
as long as we like. There are treatments available which we
could order if we wanted and some packages, which I have listed
below.

Alternatively if we wanted we could privately hire the place
on Sunday night after 6.pm, this costs £250 for 2 hours,
£350 for 3 hours and £400 for 3 hours 30 minutes.
So if there we 20 of us this would cost between £12.50
and £20. We could again order treatments.
Let me know what you think about the Spa idea.
I will buy a load of basics e.g. tea, coffee, milk, bread
eggs etc for breakfasts. In terms of booze I guess we can
buy a lot ourselves. Trusha is going to get me a load of Champagne
from France when she goes at Easter so we should be sorted
on the booze front.
Overall I want everyone to enjoy themselves so let me know
what you are interested in and we can tailor things to suit
you. I also don't want people to feel that they have to spend
a fortune so opt in and out of things as you wish.
